CLOSED: Illness School Closing, No After School Activities

Wednesday, December 18, 2019

Dear Calvary Academy Families,

High numbers of students and staff are absent due to documented flu, cold, and bacterial infections such as Bronchitis and Sinus Infections.  Our School Nurse sent many students home this week and last week and is still doing so today due to these illnesses. Due to this high outbreak of illness, Calvary Academy will be CLOSED tomorrow, Wednesday 12/18/19.  All after school activities are also canceled tomorrow.

Tonight and tomorrow a deep disinfection will be done by our janitorial staff in an effort to remove the flu, cold, and bacterial microorganisms from the surfaces and atmosphere to prevent further infections.

On Thursday and Friday, December 19th-20th, if your child has ANY cold or flu symptoms, or is NOT feeling well please DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL (see symptom list below).

Normally we do not exclude students from school for minor cold symptoms.  However, since many of these symptoms are escalating to flu and bacterial infections, we are asking you to keep students home on Thursday and Friday if any of the following symptoms exist to prevent further spread of illness.

Please see your doctor for any symptoms of Flu or Bacterial infections listed above immediately! Any fever above 100 degrees also warrants a doctor's visit. Your doctor can prescribe treatment that will shorten the duration of the flu, and treat bacterial infections.
